A world class stadium in the heart of Atlanta. Mercedes-Benz Stadium continues to make it’s mark on the sports landscape with another historic weekend. The Atlanta Falcons made their regular season debut in their new home on Sunday with a definitive win over the Green Bay Packers to move to 2-0 on the season in front of 70,826 fans. To top it all off, the roof was officially open for the first time during an event and the Falcons played their first open-air game at home since 1991. The day before, Atlanta United cemented themselves as the “Kings of the South” (1-0-2 on the season against Orlando City SC) and broke the Major League Soccer single-game attendance record with a crowd of 70,425.
If you’re not keeping count, that is 141,251 fans through the doors of Mercedes-Benz Stadium within 24 hours. Monumental. Historic. Incredible. Whatever word you use to describe it won’t do it justice, so just watch:

A truly historic weekend for Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It’s not the first and certainly not the last.
