Jimmy O'Neal

Golden Goal

2017 | Acrylic paint on acrylic panels

Golden Goal is a mirrored mural by American multimedia artist Jimmy O’Neal, who is known for his immersive public works that invite audience interaction through compositional transience. Gilding more than 45 feet of the concourse wall, this hand-brushed, three- part narrative begins with an ebullient crowd of fans, transitions to a soccer player mid-bicycle kick and ends with a bemused goalkeeper. By utilizing paint to tell a story, O’Neal masterfully engages the relationships between process, position and play.
