Atlanta United broke the Major League Soccer single-game attendance record on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a stirring crowd of 70,425. The previous record was held by the LA Galaxy in 1996 for their first-ever match in the Rose Bowl with a crowd of 69,255.

Not only was the attendance record set at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, but the match between Atlanta United and Orlando City SC was the 4th largest attendance for a soccer match in the world from September 15 – 17.
