International Holocaust Remembrance Day
January 27, 2022
The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On this annual day of commemoration, the UN urges every member state to honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.

World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day
January 30, 2022
Last year, we joined global landmarks such as the Egyptian Pyramids, Great Wall of China, Rome Colosseum, and 65 other buildings and monuments across 35 countries. In Georgia, we are lighting The Carter Center Atlanta SkyView Ferris Wheel, Atlanta City Hall, Emory University, and key monuments in Plains, Ga., including Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter’s home! This year will be even larger with 100 landmarks expected to participate.
