To say Atlanta United made a statement in their first season in Major League Soccer would be an understatement. While the season ended earlier than planned, Atlanta United took the league by storm in 2017 and set some major attendance records while doing so.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium was host to two MLS record-setting crowds, vs. Toronto FC on October 22 (single-match record, 71,874) and vs. Columbus Crew SC (postseason record, 67,221). Atlanta United also set the record for highest average season attendance with games at both Bobby Dodd Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season. An impressive feat that shows Atlanta has an incredibly passionate fan base to build on for years to come at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
