Melody Postma

Love of the Game!

2017 | Digital print on vinyl with plexiglass

Created by compositing variegated colors and long- forgotten photographs with expressive words, Love of the Game! by American artist Melody Postma serves as an abstract account of the Atlanta Falcons inaugural season in 1966. Originating as a painting, the work was photographed and then enlarged to vivify a corner within the concourse. The addition of 3-D layers introduces an element of animation, and the composition coalesces to embody the energy of the city’s spirited sports fans.
