March 10, 2022 - Atlanta, GA - On March 13, Living Walls and AT&T in partnership with AMB Sports and Entertainment will unveil the latest mural inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as part of AT&T’s Believe Atlanta focusing on celebrating the historic Westside, its roots, and it’s artists.
The latest mural is the third in the curated series developed by Living Walls and AT&T at Mercedes-Benz Stadium allowing local artists to share their voice through inclusive, thought-provoking, and intentional work featured in the AT&T Perch as part of Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s art program.
This year, Atlanta artist Sanithna Phansavanh pays homage to the Westside with a nostalgic hometown symbol, Peace Up, A-Town Down. Sanithna Is a first-generation immigrant artist working and living in his native city of Atlanta, Georgia. His work considers the cycle of creation and impermanence, particularly in the human experience of Nature, and has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with notable showings at the High Museum of Art, on the Atlanta BeltLine, and through the City of Atlanta’s public a
rt program. With this mural, he brings his love and understanding of Atlanta culture into the stadium to remind us of what brings us together.
“Atlanta’s hope of being ONE Atlanta is rooted in thriving neighborhoods. At AT&T, we are proud of our collaborations with community leaders and organizations to help empower Westside residents and make Atlanta a city where everyone can thrive,” said Venessa Harrison, president of AT&T Georgia. “This mural by Sanithna Phansavanh, with support from Living Walls, characterizes Atlanta’s passion for growth and positive change. While the hands in the design are Sanithna’s, they represent all of Atlanta’s citizens and symbolize ONE Atlanta.”
"The concept for this mural characterizes aspiration and the dedication that it inspires. The 'Peace Up' hand represents positive growth while the 'A-Town Down' hand embodies our willing effort.
Together, our hands build and care for each other. For the Westside, and Atlanta as a whole, it’s how we strengthen our community," he explains.
“We are thrilled to continue working with AT&T and Living Walls to bring these incredible pieces to Mercedes-Benz Stadium,” says Mace Aluia, vice president, corporate partnership sales, AMB Sports and Entertainment. “These works represent who we are as an organization, our commitment to Atlanta and the passion we all have for Atlanta’s culture. It’s a privilege and honor to showcase these pieces for all to enjoy.”
