ATLANTA (November 20, 2023) - CONMEBOL announced today that the opening match of the world's most exciting and oldest national team tournament, the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024, will be played at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The tournament will be held in the United States during the summer of 2024.
The opening match, scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024, will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS), home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and MLS’ Atlanta United. MBS is a world-class venue that has the capacity to accommodate more than 71,000 spectators and is renowned not only for its state-of-the-art technology and fan friendly amenities, but also for hosting the largest events in the world, including Super Bowl LIII, the College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship game in 2018 and numerous international soccer matches among other events. Mercedes-Benz Stadium will also be the host venue for the 2025 CFP National Championship game and FIFA World Cup 2026.
CONMEBOL also announced that the final match will be played at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
