The Home Depot Backyard will feature over 200 free community programs focused on its three pillars of Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, and Inspired Learning beginning May 12.
ATLANTA, GA (April 29, 2025) – The Home Depot Backyard (HDBY) announces its programming schedule for the 2025 season. The schedule will feature over 200free community programs centered around its three core pillars - Health &Wellness, Arts & Culture, and Inspired Learning - with weekly offerings beginning Monday, May 12 until October from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Commonly known as Atlanta’s Backyard, the HDBY’s programming schedule will be anchored by more than 100 weekly Health & Wellness programs featuring a diverse matrix of new and returning fitness offerings every Monday and Tuesday. Mondays will be highlighted by veteran class MaxxOut Fitness with Darrell 'DP' Patterson (bi-weekly) as well as 2024 returning favorites Brick Fit with DJ Bostick and Trap Boxing with Starr Boxing. Veteran instructors Lah King and Taneisha Gordon will each offer classes on Mondays and Tuesdays. King will again lead both Youth Fitness (bi-weekly on Mondays in June and July) and Full Body Bootcamp with Royal Physique (bi-weekly on Tuesdays) while Gordon returns with Enervibes Dance Fit (bi-weekly on Mondays) and will introduce Enervibes Pilates Pulse (bi-weekly in June). Tuesdays will also feature Tranquil Tuesday Yoga (formerly Hip Hop Yoga) with HDBY lead yoga instructor Jaimee Ratliff(bi-weekly) as well as The B.A.R. (Basic Abdominal Routine) led by DaShaun Johnson and Electrik Athlete, a functional strength and conditioning program, led by Electrik Fit. Additional health and wellness offerings will be announced throughout the season.
The 2025 slate of Inspired Learning and Arts & Culture programs will feature more than 100 combined offerings. Spearheading much of the programming under those pillars will be the Welch Martial Arts Experience, an organization based in Atlanta’s historic Westside, leading bi-weekly Self Defense classes (Inspired Learning)and Tai Chi classes (Arts & Culture) on Tuesdays throughout the season. Additional programs will include a multitude of arts and culture offerings led by Atlanta-based art brand Sway Art, the Art of Improv classes with notable American playwright, director, actress, and arts educator Nikki Toombs, and others.
Additionally, The Home Depot Backyard will host several special programming days on select Wednesdays throughout season (once a month) with a wide array of offerings. Programming will include pickleball clinics with Pickleball USA, a run/walk club with wellness enthusiast and influencer Shunty Ringfield, a variety of professional dance clinics courtesy of HDBY community partner Dance Canvas, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities and venues to increase the awareness of professional dance in Atlanta, and more.
Since 2023, The Home Depot Backyard has hosted over 400 community programs with more than 16,000 participants for its free weekly community programs.
