The Home Depot Backyard prepares to host its longest-running community event featuring a Día de los Muertos theme for the first time, filled with family-friendly activations and entertainment

ATLANTA, GA (October 23, 2024) – The Home Depot Backyard (HDBY), as part of Arts and Culture presented by The Home Depot Foundation, will host its seventh annual Fall-O-Ween Celebration on November 1.Fall-O-Ween will take place on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

This year’s edition of Fall-O-Ween will have a new theme celebrating Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, an annual holiday traditionally celebrated in Hispanic culture, specifically people of Mexican heritage. Headlining the event will be a movie on the lawn showing of Coco, a 2017 award-winning animated film starring the voices of Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murguía, and Edward James Olmos, which will begin at 8:30p.m. The event will also feature a Día delos Muertos themed laser light show at 8:15 p.m., which will be displayed on the side of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Other activations from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. will include a live mariachi band performance, traditional dance performances by Alma Mexicana, a live Día de los Muertos themed mural art experience by Sway Art, a vendor village featuring local artisans and small businesses, a special two-hour live remote and activation courtesy of radio partners La Raza 102.3 FM/107.1 FM and La Mega 96.5 FM/105.1 FM, Atlanta United street team, rides, immersive photo experiences, and more. Music will also be provided by DJ Euphoria with La Raza 102.3 FM/107.1 FM on-air radio personality Jose Luis Marquez serving as the event’s host.

There will be prizes and other giveaways throughout as well as several food trucks on-site, including Cereal Lab, Kona Ice, Popcorn Remix, Cookie Fix, La Jefa Empanadas, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, Witty’s Seafood and Wings, Tacos and Tequila.

Fall-O-Ween at The Home Depot Backyard is a free event and open to the public, but registration is required for all attendees. Registration can be completed in advance HERE.  

Fall-O-Ween debuted in 2018 and is the longest-running community event hosted by The Home Depot Backyard. It is the HDBY’s largest annual signature event with more than 4,000 annually. In 2023, nearly 5,000 people attended the two-day festival.
