The Mercedes-Benz Stadium Art Committee has commissioned a new piece that has been added to the extensive Art Collection at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The artwork, titled “Atlanta is Beautiful” and created by renowned artist Mr. Brainwash, will be one of the most visible and prominent pieces in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Art Collection. It will be viewed by hundreds of thousands of people each year and will be one of the first visual images they see when they enter the stadium.
“Atlanta is Beautiful” was carefully curated and intentionally built for the space above Fox Bro’s BBQ concession stand, a prominent location in the stadium. The artist was specifically selected to create a piece that would evoke emotion of a connected city past, present and future. It was important that fans and visitors that come to Mercedes-Benz Stadium feel an instant connection to the city when they enter the building, as Mercedes-Benz Stadium unites the city through sports, entertainment, and culture.
The piece features prominent Atlanta figures such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, John Lewis, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, Andrew Young, Arthur Blank, Bernie Marcus, and Hank Aaron. It also includes significant Atlanta landmarks like the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, The State Capitol, Fox Theater, Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the Varsity.
